September 2011 Newsletter

On September 12 we will start our 56th school year at Mayflower Nursery School!

The board, parents, teachers and I have been planning all summer, so we are very excited to have the children come through the doors and to begin our year together. In the first few weeks of school, the children will begin to learn manners at school and also to learn ways to express ourselves and be good friends. We will spend time in both of our classes, the Bunny Class and the Duck Class, learning and reviewing letters, numbers, shapes and colors.

One fun project that the Duck class has planned is a color mixing experiment! We will use finger paint and put our hands together to discover new colors!

At the end of the month, the children will learn about safety. A police officer will visit and our older children will take a walking field trip to Fire Station #1. It will be a busy few weeks, learning to love learning.

We still have openings in our Duck class. If you know of a family who may be interested, please have them contact me. It is not too late to join Mayflower!
