Our Mission Statement

Mayflower Nursery School nurtures young children in an atmosphere of acceptance and caring, offering a variety of learning experiences for students to explore their world so that each child develops self-esteem, a sense of belonging and a love of learning.

Our History

Our school was the first preschool in the Green Bay area and the first interdenominational school in the state of Wisconsin. It was founded in 1955 at 716 S. Madison St., Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 1972 we became a nonprofit corporation, run by a volunteer parent board.

For 60 years we have taught the love of learning to young children. Many of the parents today came as students when they were three and four. We have been the educational foundation for more than 1,500 children and look forward to a long future.

Our Definition

Mayflower Nursery School is a non-profit corporation. Our policies are established by parent volunteers elected to the Board of Directors and by regulations of the Department of Health and Family Services of Wisconsin. Each student’s parents are members of the corporation and invited to the two open meetings held each school year, the Parent Orientation Meeting and the End of the Year Celebration. Our state license is posted on our school bulletin board, where our policies are also available for reading.
