Special Events

The following are brief descriptions of activities that will be happening during the school year. Please check your monthly calendar for dates, times and more information.

School Visits

Before the start of the school year, children and parents have an opportunity to have an individual visit to Mayflower. The child meets the teacher and sees the classroom. The short visit gives the child a chance to become familiar with the teachers and classroom with their parents before the first day of school.

Pumpkin Hunt

The Duck and Bunny classes meet at a local park in mid October. We take a walk through the woods while on our big pumpkin hunt followed by Halloween songs and time to enjoy the playground. This is an outing where parents or car pool drivers are asked to join in the fun and help keep an eye on the children.

Halloween Social

The children come dressed in costumes to parade through the classrooms and outside (weather permitting) soon after they arrive. Parents and families are welcome to stay to take pictures as the children parade. The children  return to their classrooms for playtime, stories and a healthy snack.

Family Nights

Mayflower students and their families are invited to come to our themed family nights to spend quality time with one another and with their Mayflower friends. We have enjoyed themes such as game night, camping, Pete the Cat, and gardening.

Art Show

Mayflower students display their amazing works of art at an exhibit held in December.

Snowball Dance

The children love the opportunity to get dressed up for our annual Snowball dance. We boogie down to a great play list among friends and fun!

Fun Night

Mayflower students and their families are invited to come to our annual Mayflower Fun Night for an exciting night of games and activities! We also welcome all our future students to attend!

End of Year Celebration

We celebrate the end of the school year with a special musical program given by the children. All of our children are individually recognized during the celebration. A picnic lunch at St. James Park concludes the day. Parents, siblings, grandparents and other members of Mayflower families are welcome and encouraged to attend.
